Chelsea Weitz
PT, DPT
Chelsea Weitz is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Rebalance Physical Therapy & Wellness, specializing in pelvic health and orthopedic rehabilitation. She earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with a focus in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Delaware before completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Drexel University, where she pursued specialized coursework and clinical training in pelvic health.
Chelsea takes an integrative, whole-body approach to physical therapy, recognizing that the source of a patient’s symptoms is not always where the symptoms are felt. Rather than focusing solely on the area of pain, she evaluates how the body moves and functions as an interconnected system—looking at mobility, strength, coordination, movement patterns, and the nervous system to uncover factors that may be contributing to a patient’s condition.
As part of this approach, Chelsea incorporates the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), a movement-based assessment system that helps identify mobility restrictions, stability deficits, and dysfunctional movement patterns throughout the body. This allows her to look beyond an isolated body part and develop a more comprehensive picture of what may be driving a patient’s symptoms. This is particularly valuable in pelvic health, where dysfunction in the hips, spine, rib cage, breathing mechanics, or other areas of the body can influence the pelvic floor—and vice versa.
Chelsea has a particular interest in treating TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction and patients recovering from concussions, in addition to pelvic health and orthopedic conditions. These areas align naturally with her whole-body approach, as symptoms involving the jaw, head, neck, vestibular system, spine, and nervous system can often be interconnected. She enjoys looking beyond an individual symptom to identify the musculoskeletal and movement-related factors that may be contributing to a patient’s overall presentation.
Chelsea combines her comprehensive assessment with hands-on manual therapy, individualized movement retraining, targeted strengthening and mobility work, and patient education. She is also certified in dry needling, which she incorporates when appropriate as another tool to address muscular and neuromuscular dysfunction, improve mobility, and support recovery. Her goal is to identify and address the factors contributing to a problem rather than simply providing temporary relief where it hurts.
Chelsea is particularly passionate about pelvic health because it remains an underserved and often overlooked area of care for both women and men. Many patients spend months or even years seeing different providers, undergoing testing, and searching for answers without realizing that the pelvic floor—or its relationship with the rest of the body—may be contributing to their symptoms. Chelsea enjoys helping patients connect those dots, understand what may be happening in their bodies, and finally have a clear and individualized path forward.
She understands that pelvic health concerns can also be deeply personal and, at times, difficult to discuss. Chelsea creates a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients can feel comfortable talking openly about symptoms that may otherwise feel confusing, frustrating, or isolating.
Chelsea believes that successful physical therapy extends far beyond symptom relief. She wants patients to leave treatment with a better understanding of their bodies, greater confidence in movement and daily activities, and practical tools they can continue using independently. Her goal is not simply to help patients feel better, but to help them understand why they developed their symptoms, address the contributing factors, and feel empowered to take an active role in their long-term health.
Outside of the clinic, Chelsea enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and photography. She has a lifelong love of music and enjoys singing, playing guitar and piano, and making music. She is also happiest when she can spend time with animals.
