Meet the Rebalance Team: Andrea Barberio, PT, DPT, C-IAYT

Andrea Barberio

We are excited to introduce two new clinicians to the Rebalance team! Andrea Barberio graduated from Thomas Jefferson University and went on to work in the field of sports and orthopedic care. She first worked at Restoration Physical therapy, treating patients with various orthopedic injuries such as low back pain, joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, and cervical pain. She then worked at Vincera Rehab as Director of Rehab with specializations in core muscle injuries and hip labral tears. She has worked with athletes from all levels including local professional sports teams like the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Eagles. Andrea has taken continuing education coursework in pelvic rehab, running assessments, myofascial release techniques, and Maitland joint mobilizations. She has taken a special interest in the connection of the function and health of the pelvic floor in post-partum patients, recreational athletes, runners, and yogis.

Prior to being a physical therapist, Andrea was a high school counselor and yoga teacher. Andrea continues to teach yoga privately, and she uses her training in mindfulness and yoga movement with her physical therapy clients. By incorporating body awareness, yoga postures, and breath work, clients are empowered in their own healing process.

Outside of the clinic, Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog. She stays active with hiking, walking, strength training, yoga, and the Peloton

Andrea is motivated through her work empowering patients at Rebalance Physical Therapy. On the topic of motivation, she says, “I enjoy helping people to heal through movement. Body awareness and mindfulness are both passions that I hold. I hope to empower people to feel healthy and strong in their bodies. Including pelvic floor awareness and understanding in physical therapy is crucial in fully activating (or relaxing) the deepest core muscles to promote better health and function.”

Andrea also shared one of her favorite quotes with us.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself you have built against it.” ~Rumi

Andrea shares, “We are all worthy and perfect beings. We just experience situations in life that block us from knowing our own worth and awesomeness. So for me, our goal in life is to notice all the ways that we limit ourselves from knowing this worthiness, perfection, and awesomeness!”

We are so excited to welcome Andrea to the Rebalance team! Contact us to schedule a consultation with Andrea today.
